Privacy Policy

Information you provide

• Account information: your name and email address when you register
• User Content: photos, place names, notes, and other content you save in the App

Information collected automatically

• Usage analytics: how you interact with the App (screens visited, features used, session duration) to help us improve the product. This data is aggregated and not used to identify you individually.
• Device information: device type, operating system version, and app version for debugging and compatibility purposes
• Push notification tokens: if you enable push notifications, we store a device token to deliver them. You can opt out at any time via your device settings.

We do not collect precise location data unless you explicitly use a location-based feature (e.g., finding your current location on a map), and we do not store that data persistently.

Anonymous accounts

When you first use Baffi, an anonymous account may be created automatically via Firebase before you register. This anonymous account is associated with a random identifier and no personal information. When you create a full account, your data is migrated to your registered profile and the anonymous identifier is discarded. If you never register, anonymous data is deleted after a period of inactivity.

We use your information to:

• Provide, operate, and maintain the App
• Sync your saved places and content across your devices
• Improve and personalise the App experience based on aggregated usage patterns
• Send you important service-related communications (e.g., account security, policy updates)
• Respond to support requests

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

Your account data and User Content are stored securely using Google Firebase (Firestore and Firebase Storage). We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss, or disclosure.

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at legal@baffi.app.

If you import content from third-party platforms (e.g., saving an Instagram post or a link to a place), that content is stored in your account solely to provide the service to you. We do not independently verify that you have the rights to import such content — this is your responsibility as outlined in our Terms of Service.

We do not use imported third-party content for any purpose other than displaying it back to you within the App.

If you share a collection or place with another Baffi user, the recipient will be able to view the content you share, including any photos, notes, or imported content within that collection. We do not make shared content publicly accessible outside the App.

If you delete your account, content you previously shared may remain in recipients' collections. We recommend removing shared content before deleting your account if you wish to fully retract it.

We do not sell or rent your personal data. We may share data with:

• Service providers: third-party tools that help us operate the App (e.g., Firebase, analytics providers), bound by data processing agreements
• Legal obligations: if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of users or the public

We retain your account data and User Content for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal reasons.

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
• Delete your account and associated data at any time through App settings
• Export your data (contact us at legal@baffi.app to request a data export)

Baffi is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If we become aware that we have done so, we will delete it promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via the App or email. Continued use of the App after notice constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
